We're going to Italy for the first time - 8 days in August.
I've posted in travel advice for anyone's experiences but just realised that it probably won't reach anyone whose been and has experiences or advice to share.

So here's the thread if you can help:
I am now wondering if I'm BU to think we can enjoy 8 days in Italy (5 of us- all 16+ years old) for £2000. The villa sites are £££.

Any experiences, good or bad, much appreciated :)

I'd look at places to stay in Padua. It's a really beautiful city but underrated so much more cost effective. It's about 40 mins by train to Verona, and about 30 to Venice, but there's plenty to do in Padua itself as well. If you want something more villa-ish then Airbnb has some amazing places on it in the Tuscan countryside. Ive stayed near San Giminiano before which is a very small but seriously gorgeous and historic city. It's about an hours drive to Florence (which I'd also hugely recommend visiting) and the countryside around there is amazing (we stayed in a villa surrounded by fig trees and olive groves). It's the Chianti region as well, so expect brilliant wine. God I'm jealous, I love Italy.
