To ask how you would define fit?

A few years ago I decided to lose weight and get fit. I told myself I would get the tattoo I loved by saving a pound per pound I lost and pay for it that way and I could have it when I was fit...

I have enough money for the tattoo but can't work out if I'm fit enough.

What would your definition of fit be?

It's not an absolute, it's a scale from "very unfit" to "very fit".

I would pick something to achieve e.g. run a 5k or 10k in a certain time/at all, lift a certain weight, do a certain amount of time etc.

And fit is not the opposite of fat!

I know that.
I was fat and unfit, I've trained hard to get fitter than I was, which was struggling to walk upstairs and breathe at the same time

I just think if you can run a 5k then you are fit. And run being ‘not walking’. Fit is cardiovascular fitness right? Otherwise maybe both so say 100 burpees followed by a 5k. Ready, set, go!

That said, I can run 5k and I don’t feel fit!

Fitness is different for everyone! I'd say it's when you're happy with where you are.

For me, if I ever get to the stage where I can run 5k, or finish a HIIT workout without stopping, I'll consider myself fit.

For my friend who has always been a runner, she won't be happy until she's got her marathon time down to about 2 hours Grin

Sounds like you've worked hard! Get your tattoo and enjoy it! Can I ask what it is/will be? I love tattoos.
