To not keep opening cafe doors for other customers

Twice recently I have been out with DP and the only tables left have been by the doors leading to outdoor seating areas. The doors kept closing after being opened due to the breeze.

Several customers actually tutted and sighed at us when we didn’t get up to open the door for them as they were carrying trays or coffee and ignored them and kept eating / talking.

Sure, let me ruin my meal to keep jumping up to open the door for you!

I don’t know why but it really irritated me!

How did they open the door!

Sharonthetotallyinsane · 10/05/2018 14:15

?

Getting the person they were with to open the door, using an elbow, pushing with a foot, waitresses would hold open for them if they were going in and out etc

I don’t think you’re unreasonable, by the way. Was just curious how they did it.

YANBU. Have had glaring looks from groups of people in the past for not holding the door open for their whole party.

People can be very odd and entitled.

Polarbearflavour · 10/05/2018 14:28

It’s almost the air of entitlement that we should stop what we are doing and assist them. Despite us all being customers they come first?

People are very odd and getting worse!
