...there is a woman at work who shares the same name as me and she is a total cow (gossipy, bitchy, drama llama, always in a feud with someone even though it's an office and people should be professional!).

I haaaaate that we share a name. It's not a very common name (she's only the second person I've ever met who shares it) and I feel like she's ruining it!

I know IABU but in my head I've renamed her a new name that I hate and think is much better suited Grin

It's ok, have a good rant here Grin

Nasty woman sharing your name

Tamingoftheglue · 09/05/2018 11:06

My dh calls his manager "whasisname". It's done on purpose and it's childish but it makes him feel better because (in my husband's words) he's a jumped up little twit. It makes him feel especially good now everyone else has started calling him it too!

itallhappensforareason · 09/05/2018 11:08

You are definitely NBU. It's YOUR name and nasty people shouldn't have it.

dontticklethetoad · 09/05/2018 11:09

Haha this is the sort of thing I'd get cross about because I'm a bit of a twat Grin

What a cow though, having the same name as you. I'm desperate to know what your name is now!

NWQM · 09/05/2018 11:11

It's downright unsporting of her. If she wants to be a drama llama she needs to get a stage name asap and stop using yours. Could you work out her pornstar name and use that in your head? I would however be paranoid personally of cocking up and using it in real life - can you imagine :-)

BPG20 · 09/05/2018 11:54

My cousin married a girl with the same name as me, so now she has my full name (she changed her surname on marriage, I didnt). She's a heavy drinker and goes off on huge public Facebook rants. I'm no longer on Facebook so if future employers try to run a search on me, they'll find her and her very public profile...

MyOtherUsernameisaPun · 09/05/2018 14:20

@BPG20 that's awful! At least my surname is my own!

Thank you all for your very supportive words Grin I especially like the porn star name suggestion!!

There used to be a junior where I worked (same age as me) EXACTLY the same age as me.... he shared my birthday and was creepy as fuck. He asked me out on a date even though he was married and I was engaged! It infuriated me that we shared a birthday. I dont think I'd cope if anyone shared my name... thank GOD its uncommon.

toooldforthisshirt37 · 09/05/2018 15:33

You need to take this to HR so that other staff can be given an official directive to call her by whatever name you have chosen to give her. I am sure they will understand and everyone will comply because she is a cow. Grin

I have a fairly unusual name and find it excruciating when I meet someone who has it too. Although when I was little only animals had it on telly and I found that quite disturbing! That has changed a bit though.

dontticklethetoad · 09/05/2018 17:08

tooold please say your name is Tiddles or Rover Grin

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 09/05/2018 17:11

Urgh yes I wouldn't like that.
Move jobs Grin
