Health checks

Work gave us our annual health checks yesterday. We weren't given advance notice. WIBU to complain about this, that we weren't told in advance?

What sort of health checks? Are they compulsory?

Sirzy · 09/05/2018 09:54

Why did you need to be told in advance?

What does it entail?

adaline · 09/05/2018 09:55

What kind of job requires annual health checks?

And if they do require it, why do you need to be informed in advance?

Glumglowworm · 09/05/2018 09:56

What difference would it make if you knew in advance? It’s not a test you can revise for

Cath2907 · 09/05/2018 09:57

surely you'd have been no more or less healthy by the end of the week if they'd given you a few days notice?

WorraLiberty · 09/05/2018 09:59

So I can wear decent underwear for a start! But I would just prefer to be prepared for these things!

Does it include drug/alcohol testing?

I can see why they wouldn't advertise the date of those.

It hardly matters anyway, as long as it was on work time.

SunshineandRain18 · 09/05/2018 10:03

Decent underwear? What does the test include.
If it was invasive, then yes I'd be pissed.
If not, I wouldn't bat an eyelid.

adaline · 09/05/2018 10:04

If it's a driving job I presume it included a drugs test, which is why they couldn't tell you in advance?

Tamsin82 · 09/05/2018 10:04

Strip to underwear to be weighed, then have to go to the loo to provide a urine sample before getting dressed again

OP posts:
Sirzy · 09/05/2018 10:05

Well if you have to provide a sample then of course they won’t give you notice!

adaline · 09/05/2018 10:10

You've just answered your own question - of course they can't give advance warning of drugs tests - that defeats the entire point!

WorraLiberty · 09/05/2018 10:12

Dear lord, the whole point of drug/alcohol testing is that you're not given warning.

Phosphorus · 09/05/2018 10:13

And by the by, no HCP will be giving a second thought to your underwear.

Although stripping to be weighed sounds odd. Hmm

SunshineandRain18 · 11/05/2018 21:24

I think maybe they should have done it seperate and given you notice for stripping to be weighed.
As in do a drug test randomly, but then give you a few days notice for the weighing.
