Toddler Fancy Dress

We have a friends DDs birthday party coming up, fancy dress, with a theme of superhero's and princesses.

We really wanted to dress DD up in a superhero outfit of some kind, but for the life of me I cannot find a girls superhero outfit in size 12-18months. I just don't think she would be hugely comfortable in a poofy dress.

Why is it that little girls always have to be princesses!

Buy her a boys one then Confused

RuskBaby · 08/05/2018 21:49

There are plenty, try 1-2 or the ‘boys’ section.

Not true! Mine went as the bride (kill bill)
And before you ask You do not need "super powers" to be a super hero. What are Batman and Ironmans super powers? You need some kind of superhuman/extraordinary abilities. Beatrix Kiddo (The Bride) of Kill Bill fame fits that.

Make one? Order a mask and cape from EBay, then just put her in leggings or tights under shorts and a t shirt. Done!

CheerfulMuddler · 08/05/2018 21:51

Put her in a sleepsuit, safety-pin a tea towel to her sleepsuit as a cape and draw on a mask with face paint. Bobs your uncle.

blueskyinmarch · 08/05/2018 21:53

What about the Incredibles baby? A little red outfit and good to go.

Jellybeanduck · 08/05/2018 21:54

Disney store has these

Anotherdayanotherdollar · 08/05/2018 21:54

user not to be pedantic but Batman's not a superhero, he's a vigilante...

Noodledoodledoo · 08/05/2018 21:56

Boys section, cape, hoodies - lots of options.

My daughter went to a party recently with a 18-24 month old Buzz Lightyear Hoodie on - the majority of the girls were in princess costumes but she wanted to be Buzz!

Unexpectedbaby · 08/05/2018 21:58

Amazing suggestions! Thank you Smile

I was just getting frustrated with all the princess offerings to be honest. Just me having little patience this week and having left it pretty last minute!

They have this in asda and I’ve seen similar in Tesco and Matalan, they are usually in the sleepwear section as they are more babygro like rather than costume material

This is cute, but it's £16.99 so you might be able to find something cheaper: www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01N1401IU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_gtH8Ab52174E7?tag=mumsnetforum-21

home that is adorable!

My baby daughter has a Wonder Woman babygro from Next. Received as a gift as it's not my kind of thing!

Fruitcorner123 · 08/05/2018 22:33

just use a boys one. DD went as Spider-Man to one of these parties.

LannieDuck · 08/05/2018 22:38

With a little googling, I'm finding lots of cute baby rompers and babygros in vaguely superhero themes - jedi, power rangers etc :)
