To have evicted the kitten?

I am trying to get the baby to sleep - she somehow snuck in and pounced on him just as he was dropping off. I have popped her out in the hall and shut the door. The baby thinks IABU - he’s been wide awake shouting at me ever since I took her away. She thinks IABU - she’s hurling herself at the door and mewling piteously. I am feeling outnumbered!

YABVVVVVVU!

They clearly need each other.

Bubblysqueak · 08/05/2018 20:34

Awww how could you!!

LanguidLobster · 08/05/2018 20:34

I think you'd better relent, you're outnumbered

Brendaofbeechhouse · 08/05/2018 20:35

You have no heart. Shame on you!

adaline · 08/05/2018 20:36

Beware - the kitten may take revenge by scratching your door frame to bits!

AveAtqueVale · 08/05/2018 20:38

They do seem to have a fairly symbiotic relationship- she’s discovered today that if she shadows him closely he will open all sorts of drawers and cupboards she can then get trapped in investigate. He’s also happy to join her in chasing small skittery balls across the floor, and doesn’t even seem to mind that she always beats him. Anyway he’s now asleep (behind a firmly closed door) but she’s pointedly ignoring me - I’m new to having a feline overlord and unsure how to get back into her good graces...

Dreamies

KirstenRaymonde · 08/05/2018 20:39

Definitely Dreamies. Or tuna from the can.

dementedma · 08/05/2018 20:40

Dreamies will help but you will only be back in her good graces when, and not before, she allows it.
oh, and don't fuck with her again, ok?

Bloomed · 08/05/2018 20:42

She'll be brooding about this for 5 years or so and then will seek revenge

LanguidLobster · 08/05/2018 20:45

Cat revenge...comes stealthy and sudden

nocoolnamesleft · 08/05/2018 20:48

YABVU.

Where is the picture of the aforementioned cute kitten?

ferretygubbins · 08/05/2018 20:49

I would suggest either Kitten Tikka Massala or Unlucky Fried Kitten

tillytoodles1 · 08/05/2018 20:51

I've got a fifteen year old toothless cat who rules the roost. Get used to it, she'll make sure she gets the upper hand.

Bubblysqueak · 08/05/2018 20:51

Cat revenge with a baby accomplice, sleep with 1 eye open op!

ElizaDontlittle · 08/05/2018 20:52

No cat question is answered without a cat picture on MN AveAtqueVale !!!

You were sensible but clearly unpopular. Which is your chief role in life as mother and cat slave. Whether that translates to reasonable who can say?! I evict the kitten when I'm trying to sleep too... restful he isn't!!

Ohmydayslove · 08/05/2018 20:54

Jesus op you are brave. You do realise she will have her revenge on you.

Cats are frightening.

AveAtqueVale · 08/05/2018 21:10

Dreamies worked, and facilitating her fearless hunting of various feathery toys. She’s now riding round on my shoulder while I tidy, presumably to make sure I’m doing it to her satisfaction...

And here (definitely didn’t start a thread just for an excuse to post more kitten pics Grin)

Oh boy. A black female kitten. Oh boy.

If she turns out anything like mine, she'll be spoilt rotten before you know it, will demand to sleep on the bed, will turn her nose up at the food she ate earlier in the day and above all, will be your shadow wherever you go.

TheGonnagle · 08/05/2018 21:18

You have no idea what you have let yourself in for. Black female cats are the most bossy, demanding, disdainful, marvellous creatures to walk the earth.
As feline overlords go, you couldn't have picked a better one.

Brendaofbeechhouse · 08/05/2018 21:24

I think you need to 're-home her (to me)

mirren3 · 08/05/2018 21:27

Oh my ....those ears, yup evict her my direction.

Ellendegeneres · 08/05/2018 21:30

Yanbu. I had to rescue ellenkitty the other day from 2yr old. 2yr old now meows when I put him to bed trying to entice dcat. Dcat howls back. It’s like some tragic reenactment of Romeo and Juliet. Pair of twats 🙄

Ellenkitty is now not allowed upstairs. So she now attacks my feet whenever she sees me. Arse.

Gabilan · 08/05/2018 21:32

Round about the 10th time she's sent you hurtling down the stairs, she might soften a bit.

I have a black female cat. I am a continual source of disappointment to her. I think she's trained me well. She begs to differ.

TyrionsNextWife · 08/05/2018 21:43

HOw could you ever say no that wee face 😻
