In thinking Facebook needs to crack down on the sale of animals?

Apparently, it is now against Facebook terms to sell animals on Facebook.

Why then, do so many animal selling pages exist? I don't see animal advertisements on Marketplace, but the amount of "Pets for Sale" groups is unreal.

I've tried reporting one of them, but Facebook says it doesn't violate their terms. However, when you look at their terms, it clearly states that the selling of animals is forbidden.

If you click to report an individual ad, it comes up with an option to "give feedback on this post", which then comes up with "this is an animal for sale". When you click it though, the advert remains!

If they are going to ban something, why can't they see it through? It's adding to the amount of puppy farmers and profit breeders who have yet another outlet to advertise their badly bred animals.

I didn't know animals were banned

I'm on a few of the animals for sale pages and there's always puppies, kittens and rabbits being sold on a regular basis with the odd other animal too

My local facebook page is full of people selling litters of various mixed breed dogs - chugs, chorkies, labradoodles etc for extortionate sums of money.

Interesting really then.

How can they ban the sale in their terms and conditions and willingly allow them to be sold?

Like I said there's numerous animal selling sites

I have no idea. Its definitely banned, I've checked.
