Interview

I have a job interview at the end of the week. The salary was not disclosed in the ad but described as 'competitive'. There's a wide range of what it could be. Do you ask in interview what it is or is that a definite bad thing to do?

You ask

I would ask, if you get asked back for a second interview/get the job. You don't always have to accept, if they offer it you and it's considered a bit rude to ask in the interview.

I would wait to see if they bring it up and ask the question or wait till the end and ask. You cant take a job with no notion of the pay, i imagine they will bring it up. Good luck.

Sorry, I don’t know the answer but have often wondered about these types of ads. I would assume (but may well be wrong) that they would make a salary offer based on experience etc. But I would personally ask, I mean it shouldn’t be a secret! Surely anyone would want to know the salary of a job they were considering.

@shortcutcity
Of course its not rude, you're not a slave and they arent your masters. The deal is you pay me in exchange for my services, youve seen my cv and questioned me, now give me the figures.

When it’s advertised as salary competitive I don’t think it’s rude to ask at all, don’t most people want to know how much they will be paid?
