To find this weight loss group ridiculous?

I was doing a certain diet and there’s a Facebook page of support.

It’s full of people saying, I tried to stay on plan today but then failed and ate a family sized bag of crisps and 3 mars bars.

People saying restarting for the fourth time.

All the comments include “hun”

I just want to scream at these women. This diet clearly isn’t for you!! And that’s fine. Find something that doesn’t make you miserable and rinse your bank account.

Ugh is it slimming world? I joined one like that and didn’t end up going back for the 2nd week because it all seemed so fake and mean girls-y

Everybody has the odd slip when trying to lose weight. Better to admit it then move on from it rather than saying oh sod it then and continue to stuff. No successful diet would deliberately include stuff like that!! I'm doing WW. I've lost nearly 3 stone before. 1 more to go. We have fb sites for support, recipes, confessions and proud achievements. I love the plan and have never enjoyed my food more. But then something sneaks in, like when I got a bit hungry and tired on a weekend away and had a bag of Percy Pigs which have more ww points than my 2 day allowance!! I ate, confessed - which in a way helps you reflect on your actions and maybe re-think plans in the future to try not to make the same mistake again.

No it isn’t. It’s so heavily moderated, to the point the mods will turn comments off on a lot of posts etc

I started a couple weeks ago. I find it works for me as being weighed each week gives me something to aim for and I find being in competition with myself to lose more works. I do not stay for fucking circle share time but the plan seems to be working for me so far and having never done a diet before, I’m Please I’m sticking to it.

It’s like all diets, it’s not going to work unless you stick to it, or at least try and bit harder and don’t hoof family size packs of Maltesers.

Also I’m slightly horrified about the awful, unappetising pictures of people’s dinner that they share. That’s a bit off putting.

Everybody has the odd slip when trying to lose weight.

Of course they do. But this diet is very strict in that you can only eat their products and one slip could ruin it.

This is why so many people restart and I just don’t think it’s healthy on them to feel like they “failed”.

Is it the 8 week blood sugar diet?? There are some real zealots (and, to be fair, some absolute numpties) on those group pages Grin

Lilyhatesjaz · 07/05/2018 18:25

I went to a group like that a few years ago. They were almost taking delight in how naughty they had been. I think some of them had been going for years. I found a different group.

ShinyBadger · 07/05/2018 18:29

Are you CWP or simular?!
Im a member of a simular group, and yes it gets on my nerves too....

Lou0390 · 07/05/2018 18:31

Sounds like the Cambridge diet

BlueRiviera · 07/05/2018 18:38

I’m on s support group like this now and there’s this one woman who has posted about her “time of the month” about 5 times now!

  • I’m finishing it hard to stay on plan because it’s my totm
  • I had a Chinese tonight because I couldn’t resist, think it’s because it’s my totm
BlueRiviera · 07/05/2018 18:38

I just want to scream! No one wants to know that information Diane!

GreedyVegan · 07/05/2018 19:18

Is it slim and save? A friend was doing the diet and I joined the forums because I couldn't believe what she was telling me. I felt like telling them it was wasting their money.
