Hello Fresh

I signed up for a delivery of 3 meals for 2 weekly. First box, no meat included. Complained, 2/3 of a refund. Next box came, meat included. Next 2 boxes, no meat. I complained again, they offered £5 in refund.

How is it possible that 3 out of 4 boxes were missing an important ingredient? I cannot understand how this could have happened.

I have obviously cancelled my subscription, but would IBU to ask for all my money back?

Wow, that does seem unlucky...you sure you didn’t throw the meat away with the packaging by accident?! It’s packed separately from the dry ingredients...

dany174 · 06/05/2018 22:03

That is odd. Did the recipes require meat? Or did you just get vegetarian options?

If the recipes asked for meat then defiantly ask for more money back!

I've done Hello Fresh for a year and never had anything missing

Westnorwood · 06/05/2018 22:08

I’ve had that before. There is usually a padded plastic bag with it in but not always. I hate Hello Fresh. Continually ignored instruction to put the box in the covered porch and left it by the front door. Missing ingredients most of the time. Also sent me two further deliveries after I cancelled.

I did hello fresh for nearly a year. Often had stuff missing. Cancelled in the end. Gousto better.

BlondeB83 · 06/05/2018 22:15

Very strange! Are you sure you didn’t miss it in the box?

calzone · 06/05/2018 22:17

Try Gousto.

My parents love it!

itwasadarkandstormy · 06/05/2018 22:49

Definitely didn't miss them. It just seems bad form!

Tried Hello Fresh and Gousto and much preferred Gousto. We didn't have anything missing from Hello Fresh but I found the meat way too fatty. Nothing wrong with it but I would not buy meat with that much fat content in the supermarket. I also found their mixes were a little too salty. Much preferred Gousto but again - found the meat was fatty.

I've been buying SpiceNtice recently. No ingredients - just a bag of dried spices and a recipe card. I could probably muster up all the required herbs and spices needed from my own cupboard but love the fact that it is all measured out for you. I am generally lazy when it comes to cooking and anything that makes my life easier gets my vote. All meals I have made so far are delicious.

Also, be ready for the constant phone calls you are going to get from Get Fresh when you stop ordering.

itwasadarkandstormy · 06/05/2018 23:33

Oh god, I hope not

Oh yes, the near constant (maybe 1 or 2 every 2 months) barrage of super nice and friendly calls “don’t leeeaaavveee usss” ... yes yes i cancelled 6 months ago, stop being so needy 😤
Gousto was nice 👍

itwasadarkandstormy · 07/05/2018 00:31

I wish I'd known this before I signed up. It's obviously a large operation with poor organisation

We get Gousto - Hellofresh recipes didn’t impress me. Also gousto are usually very good if something is wrong.
Hello fresh also constantly rang me for about a year after I ended my subscription and it was really annoying
