Yes YABU it's not 2005 anymore

PoptartPoptart · 06/05/2018 09:19

I thought she was terrible when she recently presented the Olivier awards on TV.
Really stiff and not funny.
Her dress was also hideous.

MarthasGinYard · 06/05/2018 09:22

Yanbu

I loved her show

I think In RL she is 'obviously' way different to any of her characters and people expect something different.

maclippy · 06/05/2018 10:14

@poptart she’s not a glamour model. @fash84 get a sense of humour!

Idontdowindows · 06/05/2018 10:23

I think you're being unreasonable. All of the women she portrays are awful people and that's sad I think.

PoptartPoptart · 06/05/2018 10:27

I realise she’s not a glamour model, but that dress was truly awful!

FASH84 · 06/05/2018 10:27

@maclippy do you think I may have been joking.... It's not unreasonable to find anyone funny if you like them FFS MN πŸ™„

"Yes YABU it's not 2005 anymore"

Ahaha πŸ˜‚ is OP Boverd tho?

Onslow · 06/05/2018 10:33

Wow this thread is going well... Hmm

OP, I love Catherine Tate! She's brilliant. This clip of where her "inspiration" for Nan came is pretty good.

maclippy · 06/05/2018 10:41

@windows @fash84

Oh she is so funny. A couple of her caracters do annoy me slightly but most of them are hilarious. I love Nan. And the Irish nurse is hilarious.

Giggorata · 06/05/2018 11:35

Donna Noble was one of the best companions ever and revealed a new side of Catherine Tate that I hadn't suspected existed...

Lea18 · 06/05/2018 11:38

Soo funny reminds me of younger days and still just as funny !!

Lea18 · 06/05/2018 11:38

Just tell the haters on this your not bovvered !! Haha

maclippy · 06/05/2018 13:02

Some of the people on here, being horrible and passive aggressive! I’m certainly glad you aren’t my mother!

Loved her and DT in Dr WhoTardis

InsomniacAnonymous · 06/05/2018 13:52

I can't stand her and when she was on 8 out of 10 cats does Countdown I was amazed to discover quite how thick she is.

cardibach · 06/05/2018 13:56

I hare sketch chows. Almost all are dreadful, and anyway I prefer more developed comedy. I liked her in Dr. Who. She was awful at the Oliviers. But you can like who you like.

cardibach · 06/05/2018 13:56

Hate not hare!

Snapespeare · 06/05/2018 14:05

I could take or leave her until Donna Noble got her memory wiped and then I just sat in floods of tears. Her depiction of that character genuinely moved me. She’s a fine comic actress when she reins it in a bit. I don’t give a stuff what she looks like in a dress.

MarthasGinYard · 06/05/2018 14:14

Well I'm with you Op

Also love nurse Bernie

'Would you like a rhubarb and custard Sister'? Grin

Averyyounggrandmaofsix · 06/05/2018 14:35

I like her, especially Nan and Posh Mum. I wonder if either of them would join Mumsnet?

Eolian · 06/05/2018 14:38

Can't stand her. I find her cringeworthy and unfunny. And I couldn't wait for her to leave Doctor Who.
