To worry about my memory

I'm getting seriously concerned. Tonight I moved my hearing aids because I needed to recharge them. I can't find them anywhere. I've turned my bedroom upside down. I know I've seen them today as I wore them to work and got the charger out to charge them back up. I put them on my dresser. I've looked all over the house. The dc wouldn't touch them.

The exact same thing happened with my door key two days ago. I ended up finding them in a drawer.

I'm 40 years old. Is it worth a trip to the doctor or is it just tired mum brain?

I would say tired mum brain. I do this all the time. My mantra is 'phone, keys, purse' before I leave the house. Rarely are all three where I thought I left them.

Anxiety or depression can cause this. Not sure if that could apply to you Probably juts your brain trying to do and remember too much

Actually I went to the Dr about this last week.Other symptoms too...periods changing, palpitations, night sweats.I was concerned it was menopause but she really focused on the memory loss (losing my car in the car park several times and forgetting words).Did some blood tests...have to go back in a week.Write down when it happens and keep a log if you feel it is be coming regular then speak to your dr.I'm 46 btw. Can't get on my iPad as I have forgotten the 4 digit password I've been using for 8 years. Its scary.

I had this a couple of years ago, really bad and to the point for the first time I was signed off sick as I was really worried. Turned out my vitamin D level was non existent and I was put on high dose tablets which really improved it.

Ginorchoc · 02/05/2018 21:53

Posted too soon, lack of Vitamin D can cause brain fog.

I'm getting really stressed by it. I can't find them anywhere. I've even checked the dogs basket. I have these awful dreams where I'm forgetting things and wake up in a panic.

Have a look at neurosymptoms.org in particular the memory section

Sorry this is causing you much anxiety OP. Have you got a lot on your mind or are you overly busy at the moment? It's probably nothing. We all have lapses in memory from time to time. I had concern 6 years ago when I was out locally and found myself not knowing how to get home. My memory is rubbish anyway but it wasn't anything serious or sinister. There are some online tests you can do but maybe worth seeing your GO for piece of mind. Hope all is okay and you find your hearing aids x
