To think I've done something stupid?

So I had a permanent job that I hated and was recently offerred a new opportunity. It was described as temp-to-perm (an initial 12 week contract). I accepted because they made out I would definitely be made permanent. 11 weeks later and they have told me that I have 1 week left and then I'm no longer needed. Fuck. What do I do? I have 2 children to support and should never have been so bloody stupid. Not even sure if I can claim job seekers because I left a permanent position.

I think you can claim job seekers as it’s been 12 weeks and they have let you go.
Not a lot you can do unfortunately. Is there something you could do self employed? eBay selling etc for 16 hours to take you out of jobseekers band and on to WTC? Even if you make little profit it’s usually more money and less questions. Until you can get something else.

You should get jsa. If dwp ask, explain it was advertised as temp to perm. They're so overworked now, they may not bother asking and will just want to know the last day of your employment.
Also check your contract's wording - if it guarantees temp to perm, you might be able to get a discretionary payment out of the firm.

There's good money to be made as a homeworker selling holidays.

Not sure what a homemaker selling holidays is? Hopefully it won't take too long to get something else, I will take anything.
I'm fretting about tax credits claim stopping (because I'm not working) and then having to go on universal credits but I will cross that bridge. At least I've learnt never to trust what they say at interview!!

Get your CV to all the local agencies tomorrow and hopefully some of them will be helpful

You left a job you hated. That was a good thing. I hope things work out for you.
