To think a Business Networking Group shouldn't involve naked women?

I am a self employed female professional and often go to business networking groups to generate more business. I did a google search for some other networking groups to widen the net and I was pretty shocked to this one: www.thealternativenetworking.club/

Quotes from the website:

"Getting to know potential business referral partners in adult settings, where trust and loyalty is built through shared experiences and common interests.

If you think its rude, you may be a prude and that's fine but this is probably not for you.

We offer an Alternative Networking Club at a range of venues - all accompanied by our gorgeous girls- fancy some naked golf?

We offer the very best and varied range of networking events. We never settle for second best and always have your satisfaction as our top priority."

NAKED FUCKING GOLF!!! The website was apparently set up in February this year. I bet this is where the President's Club lot will go to... The Director of the company according to Wilki was at one time "the single largest pornographer and distributor of adult material in the world".

Whatever your thoughts on porn and strippers, AIBU to think that a BUSINESS NETWORKING group should not involve naked women in 2018?

I had to laugh ' our girls will always be on hand to make the networking 'Special.'

I don't think it's great however it's not excluding women and there will be many men who feel uncomfortable with this. So by that hand it is inclusive unlike other 'networking' clubs like the Masons.

I do however think it's in poor taste

WTAFIGO · 02/05/2018 13:40

Is it inclusive though? Would it not require male strippers as well to be fully inclusive (not for a moment would I go though!).

It's inclusive as it isn't excluding anyone.

Choosing not to go because you don't want to see naked fanny is a choice.

As I said - it's in poor taste and I can just imagine the type of people who would go.
However, having bore witness to private clubs that exclude whole echelons of society whilst using their influence to elevate the careers of their cohorts I would say this is much more inclusive than a lot of other networking environments.

I would definitely go to this. But that’s cause I’m a cow and have seen what happens when you talk to strippers (I assume) like humans in front of men.

Someone has been watching too much mad men and wants to hark back to the good old days. If naked gold makes running your business worth while what a waste of your time.

'Sushi on Suzi will be available'. Yuck.

In the year when companies are having to do a lot of work to redress their woeful Gender Pay Gaps, this seems particularly poor timing.

While you might go @phlewf, this is designed to exclude women (unless they're naked and covered in raw fish)

I love it if someone turned up expecting naked women and it turned out to be an event for naturist business men getting golf lessons from fully clothed female golf coaches.

"Hello sir, here's a basket for your clothes, Moira over there is leading the beginners session"

phlewf · 02/05/2018 14:21

Oh absolutely I agree. I was being flippant, the only reason I would go would be to point out the distasteful nature.
There’s no need for this type of thing, I don’t think there are limited opportunities for men to network or to look at naked women.
At best it could provide of business owners to avoid due to poor judgment.

Naked Golf. I wonder whose company wide appropriate behaviour policy allows that. I am afraid it might be popular with some men.
