Certainly not being unreasonable. Now what are you going to do with it?

You can buy my silence with a kitkat.

Well done you! Bet you can't keep the secret though! What are you going to spend it on?

Certainly not. I scooped £200 on the grand national last year. Dh never knew anything about it til I came swanning home in a lovely pair of new leather riding boots.

Get it spent on you before it goes on bills and dinner money.

No, don't tell him!

americantrish · 15/05/2007 13:51

hmmm..
how would you feel if he did the same, hid it from you and then you find out?

secrets never stay hidden. maybe plan something nice for the two of you with it??

heifer · 15/05/2007 13:51

You know you will tell him though, and to be honest I think you should really..

He should know that you won £100, it would be deciteful if you didn't tell him that you won £100....

I have to admit I would tell my DH but then again I can't keep a secret me, (well not one of mind anyway)....

Completely unreasonable if you ask me, UNLESS the guy is a total git and treats you like shite then yes, totally out of order. If i were to win that sort of money i would share it with DP or at least tell him about it. Imagine if it were the other way around, i might be missing the fact that we are talking about a git that treats you badly else, i cannot believe that people think this is a reasonable way to behave.

Iklboo · 15/05/2007 14:09

I wouldn't be able to keep it from him. First thing I'd do would be to go out and buy him and DS a little pressie

J20BABY · 15/05/2007 14:40

Lucyellensmum - I think you will find that SA2 is joking, as are most of the replies....

Well maybe some of the replies...

Report

lucyellensmum · 15/05/2007 14:49

stoppinattwo · 15/05/2007 14:49

And anyway DP doesnt share his money with me, he gives it all to me..............simply because i sort all the money out.

The only useful piece of marriage advice my mum has ever give me is to keep a little account set up somewhere that DH knows nothing about, even if DH is completely lovely like mine (mostly) and not at all git-like.
Other non-useful advice has been to always have clean hair and never refuse him sex.

Report

Elasticwoman · 15/05/2007 16:17

Never refuse him sex, but spike his tea if he gets too frisky?

Report

fireflyfairy2 · 15/05/2007 16:20

Tatat, I love my hubby dearly but he is useless with money, and leaves it all up to me, so I have a secret account/emergency fund, so when something crops up and we're skint, (as usual), I can save the day without him even realising it. I saw a newspaper article recently that said a high percentage of people have bank accounts that their partners know nothing about!!

To op....no.

Report

hotchocscot · 15/05/2007 23:32

personally i'd have told him it was £200, and agreed what to do with it (worthy like paying off some of the council tax bill). but kept the £90 for some treats in the future when the win is a distant happy memory. You can never have too many handbags! well done SA2. champioooonaaayyy, champiooonaaaayyy away away away (I believe is the chant.)
