To sit for the afternoon?

I never, ever do this. I returned from work earlier today and have done nothing since. Just sat and watched a film. I have so much to do, which I'm not doing because I always have things to do and I never stop. So, I've stopped for 2 hours.

Why do I feel guilty?

You should feel guilty, you haven't mentioned having a glass of wine or chocolates to help you with your much needed chill out :)

moofeatures · 01/05/2018 15:37

A gin will ease the guilt Gin

raindropsandsunshine · 01/05/2018 15:39

Oh no wouldn't that be nice! But alas, I have to drive this evening. Honestly, I haven't done this for at least two years!

Hadalifeonce · 01/05/2018 15:43

I was working this morning, and am just sitting checking out mumsnet this afternoon. Don't care.....................

twinklefeather · 01/05/2018 15:46

Don’t feel guilty your just recharging Grin

raindropsandsunshine · 01/05/2018 15:47

Oh no, it's a really super cheesy film I hardly dare say.

Bring it on all or nothing Blush

It's my day off today - I have done very little - and just had an afternoon nap Grin - it's good to relax, I think people can take being 'busy' too seriously as if it is a GOOD THING to be constantly busy, doing something worthwhile or taking pride in 'never stopping'. Why the obsession with 'being busy' all the time?

mammynowanauntyIRL · 01/05/2018 15:52

YANBU what a fabulous way to spend an afternoon!

runsmidgeOMG · 01/05/2018 15:58

Chicken pox has hit, today I've let my toddler near enough watch tv all day whilst I had a little snooze on the sofa and tidied the house. Yes I feel guilty but everyone needs a rest day !! :)

raindropsandsunshine · 01/05/2018 16:01

It's amazing. I now realise that I never sit down in my living room during the day. Rarely at night really. Always something to do or someone needing me.

Actually, when I have the opportunity I may do more of it.

We all need to sit and recharge our batteries every once in a while so we don’t burn out! Think of it as essential maintenance rather than a waste ☺️

ilovepixie · 01/05/2018 16:59

I'm off today and spent the afternoon watching dirty dancing!

Ragwort · 01/05/2018 17:44

I choose to work Saturdays so that I can get a day off on my own in the week (DH at work and teenage DS at school) - it's bliss having the home to myself and, as rain says, just the chance to sit down in the living room on my own is a lovely treat. Or lie down in bed as I did this afternoon Grin.

Hate it if my day off and DH's 'working from home day' clashes !
