Hi today I was referred to the breast clinic, I’m wondering how long the referral will take? Can anyone give me an idea how long the wait will be? I just didn’t think to ask today until I got home x

I've been at the breast clinic today. I was referred two weeks ago and I think most referrals take between one and two weeks. They seem to all be fairly quick. They were really nice and the results all came back clear which I'm sure they will for you as well. Flowers

There's a national target to get you in the door within 2 weeks.

PickleFish · 30/04/2018 18:47

I was referred a couple of weeks back and still not gone (appointment late next week). In my area, it seems to be 2 weeks to let you know about the appointment, rather than get you in the door.

Thankyou so much for your replies, 2 weeks seems a long time but it’ll soon come around xx

I got referred by my doctor and had a phone call the following day from the hospital. I was in the following week. Had scans and biopsy too. They told me there and then they didn’t believe my lump to be cancerous from their eerience. But I had a follow up appointment at the hospital within 10days to get the confirmation I had the all clear. This was Norfolk btw.

I’ve been referred twice and been in within two weeks both times. (And they were lovely and everything was fine.)

I was seen within 2 weeks for mammogram then went back in today which turned into biopsy of the lump. Will get results In 10 days.

Am freaking out so I know how you feel. Thanks

Mine was under 2 weeks and that included the Easter bank holiday weekend. Luckily just cysts - hoping for good news for you.

Welshmaenad · 30/04/2018 19:29

I was seen within ten days. It was not cancer.

Thanks for you, it's a tough wait, hope you get your appt soon x
