Teaching anything whatsoever?

Can you juggle?
Can you make an origami anything? (YouTube is your friend)
Can you do sign language?

I did tropical fish tank water testing when I had a general one to do.

The content is kind of irrelevant. Focus on a lesson plan and how you’re actually going to teach it and how you’re going to ensure understanding.

Had to do another one last year on a specialised subject. Just said to do a microteaching. So I did a microteaching but I also produced laminated handouts which I gave to the interviewers and said if this was a proper lesson I would do a handout and then I’d get the students to demonstrate what I’ve shown them. For the student demos I’d produced a tick list /marking grid so I could show I was thinking about evidencing that they were of a suitable standard.

Something that everyone will thank you for if they don't know, like how to pack a suitcase beautifully or change a tyre. Or some shortcuts on the computer or how to unsend an email sent in error.

You will be more memorable if you choose something that people are really interested in rather than your just demonstrating your teaching skills...

LIZS · 30/04/2018 16:34

What is your subject?

nottakenpersonally · 30/04/2018 16:35

Seconding the change a tyre idea!

MNscum · 30/04/2018 17:15

I think it either needs to be something you know inside out already or something simple enough you can learn. You don’t want to be stressing about what comes next.
