To eat bread, butter and red wine for tea?

In reality I have to cook a meal for everyone. But I bought a lovely fresh granary loaf and really want to just have that with some nice butter and red wine for tea. Easy and very very tasty. Maybe I can just send DP to the chippy?

That'd make a nice chip butty.

crunchymint · 28/04/2018 17:11

Now there is an idea. Yum yum

Love a chip butty!

Hillarious · 28/04/2018 17:12

Bread, butter, chips, salt, vinegar and ketchup?

champagneplanet · 28/04/2018 17:13

Got any cheese? Yum

crunchymint · 28/04/2018 17:14

No cheese would ruin it

Yes - cheesy chips with bread and butter. Total fave in this house. I have it with ketchup and mayo.

crunchymint · 28/04/2018 17:15

You would all ruin some gorgeous bread

Do it.

Crispbutty · 28/04/2018 17:17

My user name gives away what I would do.

Gottokondo · 28/04/2018 17:20

Can I come over?

crunchymint · 28/04/2018 17:21

Sure.

I love red wine, naan bread or hot crusty buttered bread and maybe a cheese.

Makes me feel all roman which must mean it's a cultured thing to do.

KirstenRaymonde · 28/04/2018 17:21

Sounds ideal. I’d also add cheese though.

TheSpottedZebra · 28/04/2018 17:22

Bread and butter is genuinely my favourite food.
But I ill so love cheese sandwiches and chip butties too.

And yes, lots of other, healthier, posher and more grown-up foods too but B&B would be my last supper. Piles of it.

crunchymint · 28/04/2018 17:23

Bread and butter isn't that unhealthy though?

OP posts:
TheSpottedZebra · 28/04/2018 17:24

Huh? Not I ill. I not ill. But I also love cheese sandwiches etc etc

ILovethe90s · 28/04/2018 17:26

Oooh crusty bread, butter, and stilton cheese with red wine. is just what I fancy for tea now!

TrappedWind · 28/04/2018 17:27

Yes I would definitely have that for tea, but a selection of cheese would also be a must.

Genevievevavance · 28/04/2018 17:29

Bread, butter and wine sounds heavenly 🤤 Unfortunately I'll be slaving over a stove making curry and sides from scratch

crunchymint · 28/04/2018 17:30

What I was going to make now, was white fish in a parsley sauce, baked potato and peas. So pretty healthy. Curry sounds good though. Bread, butter and red wine is easy peasy though.

Just eating some fresh ciabata from Scarborough Market Hall's artisan bakery with salad humus and brie. Late lunch/ v early dinner. Small glass chilled white Grenache going down nicely with it.
