Share your tips for cheaper food shopping?

I'll go first. Popcorn to watch with a film?
25p microwave popcorn (massive bag) from savers, home bargains etc instead of £1 bag from Asda,Tesco etc

Why would you want to watch the popcorn if you have a film?

Honestly I find that I always loose half of that microwave popcorn to burning! My microwave/kitchen get full of smoke. (Maybe I've a microwave problem?)

ScreamingValenta · 27/04/2018 21:07

Domino How long do you put it in for?

IthinkIsawahairbrushbackthere · 27/04/2018 21:08

I buy my meat from the butcher - for under £20 I have 6 meals for 5 people. I also buy my potatoes from the same place - £5.00 for a sack that lasts 2 months.

If you soak the corn kernels in water for 10 minutes or so before making the popcorn they will pop better and you'll get fewer old maids

Buy full fat milk, and water down. Same with coffee

lettuce, leeks, basil and spring onions regrow when you put the ends in water.
