Shits

I have had a somewhat light-hearted discussion at work this morning which started with a colleague calling some of the kids in her street shits as they were annoying her with their behavior. Behavior such as leaving their toys in her private front garden, screaming for no good reason and playing chap door run away. The kids involved are 5 or 6.

Another colleague questioned whether the kids given their ages could be called shits or where just displaying shit-esque behavior taught by or not discouraged by their parents. Their parents are the shits in this instance.

This started a debate as to what age could a person be classed as a shit? It was generally agreed it would be rude and wrong to call anyone a shit to their face mind its not much better to call them a shit behind their back

Aibu to ask at what age would you class someone as a shit?

Ringing someone’s doorbell and running away makes you a shit whatever your age.

What child isn't a shit at times?

Mme and my friends call each other a 'shit' for silly things, calling someone a 'shit' isn't that insulting, but maybe we just definitely swear too much.

The colleagues would call them the same if they had to put up with it.

These days kids are shits and adults are snowflakes.

My neighbours kids are shits - last week one was banging on my front window with both fists and then when I went out to shout at him, went banging on another neighbours car windows in the same way.

It's acceptable at pretty much any age.

"motherfuckers" was commonly used in our house out of their hearing

RubberJohnny · 26/04/2018 14:59

Kids are shits. When too old to be a shit, you're a twat.

TheMagicTorch · 26/04/2018 14:59

I regularly call my 24 year old colleague a shit... Grin

Smidge001 · 26/04/2018 15:03

you can find all ages of shits. They start off as ‘little shits’, but soon graduate into full on shits if they have been annoying more than a couple of times.

My unborn baby is currently a little shit for being in a oblique transverse position, so I'd say they don't even have to be out of the womb!
I obviously say this in a lighthearted manor. I don't genuinely feel that my baby is a little shit. Maybe it says more about the person's mood/patience than the child. Definitely my case here!

ILikeMyChickenFried · 26/04/2018 15:05

Ive been known to jokingly describe my own children as little shits clearly i don't belong on MN

BoofayTheOompaLoompaSlayer · 26/04/2018 15:05

Ps: I thought this was going to be a diarrhoea post!

TheMagicTorch · 27/04/2018 11:35

@BoofayTheOompaLoompaSlayer
Same!

IveGotNoClothes · 27/04/2018 14:35

My DS is 13 months......he's a shit most days!! Especially today after trashing the toilet roll!

FYI I still love him even if he is a brat

treeofhearts · 27/04/2018 14:40

Any age qualifies imo. I quite often get texts asking me to watch my nephew and niece so my sister can go shopping because they're being little cunts today. They are 4 and 2. But then we are a sweary family anyway.

DairyisClosed · 27/04/2018 14:40

People I know use the term endearingly. If they actual dislike someone they are called a bastard.

Cath2907 · 27/04/2018 14:45

My puppy is a little shit - sometimes literally.
