It is sad. But those of us who are fed up with it should try to change it, non? No good moaning if you're not prepared to make things better? (What am I talking about?! I've no idea how to improve a virtual life. It's not as if I can go up to the troublemakers and shout "Grow up" at them, is it?).

It makes me laugh when people post a thread saying if you like chocolate sign up here then someone will always post chocolate makes you fat, gives you spots, infact I hate it. They then start another thread saying All those who DON'T LIKE chocolate, sign in here. bonkers
but yes agree with you totally, it must be the wind, putting the jitters up everybody......

Some people are plain rude and offensive at times. However, I suspect that they must equally be like that in RL too. You get it on every forum/board - best ignored.
It does get a bit "school bully" in some cases though. It is rather worrying though when some point out the rudeness/nastiness that others rush to defend the offender.
FWIW I haven't seen too much of it here - guess I must be on the wrong threads.

What people seem to forget is that MN is actually OPTIONAL - you don't actually have to read/have an opinion about every last thing people get worked up about. I have no idea what MN was like back in the good old days, but now it provides me with entertainment, interest, advice etc etc when I want it. The bits that I consider "horrid", I ignore.

yes, a second vote for fuck off if you don't like it
all this whinging is just passive aggresiveness, that's what the "I am so disappointed that some people can be so nasty" which really means, I think I am nicer than you and I will take this opportunity to tell you and then see how many people agree with me.
