Just sat and enjoyed a honey roast ham and farmhouse cheddar cheese from MnS.

Then someone's said I shouldn't have have ate it cos I'm 12 weeks pregnant and it has mayo in it, really??? "

I thought the mayo in premade sandwiches were OK, surely it's pasteurised.

Yeah - it's pasteurised.
It's the homemade stuff you need to avoid because of raw egg.
You enjoy your sandwiches!

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 25/04/2018 09:44

Home made mayo can be problematic, but bought one is safe.

Unpasteurised or Home made from non lion stamped eggs is an issue.

If people make silly comments just ask them when they qualified as a midwife.

BarbaraofSevillle · 25/04/2018 09:46

Even raw eggs are safe for everyone except severely immunocompromised individuals if UK lion stamped ones.

TheFifthKey · 25/04/2018 09:49

There's basically no salmonella risk from Lion stamped eggs any more, even if not cooked thoroughly, so knock yourself out!

RubbishRobotFromTheDawnOfTime · 25/04/2018 09:59

There are a lot of idiots about.

elQuintoConyo · 25/04/2018 10:03

A-ha, 12 weeks pregnant, you have just learnt that your body is now a public thing to be openly scrutinised.

Are you sure you can eat that?
Should you be doing X in your 'condition'?
I wouldn't do Y while pregnant.
You should eat more of Z.

...ad infibloodynitum.

"Thanks, Dr" usually shuts people up.

Pregnancy: open season for wankerish comments.

Congratulations OP and enjoy your mayo Flowers
