How to organise a marathon

takeittakeit · 22/04/2018 20:50

Hope the Aussie organisers of the commonwealth games - watched and learned a few lessons about organising a marathon in hot weather!

No competitors rolling around on the floor suffering dehydration and heat exhausation with no help around.

Fans, water and humanity displayed.

Well done London

really?

water stations at mile 8,9 and 10 ran out of water

volunteers more interested in taking photos of Mo Farah than getting his water to him.

There were A LOT of people throwing up, needing oxygen etc. And the end was a crazy funnel of people.

Credit to Mo, though, for setting a British record after the water fiasco!

There seemed to be a lot more medical types at Tower Bridge than in previous years from my perspective as a spectator.

A few times, we saw them running against the flow to reach people.... haven't heard of any fatalities though.

Two of the stations my friend intended to get water at had run out...
