My DP went apeshit because i didnt stop when the car behind me very gently bumped my bumper at a roundabout. Presumably the guy behind thought i was pulling away sooner than i did. The car is fine - people are fine. I actually just thought i'd stalled, it was so minor. Its ruined our day out - he say's i left the scene of an accident. I say, what accident?

Maybe you should call the police and log it now Op, this is Mums Net after all! 😂 and as User123457886532456 so helpfully said you defiantly need extra tuition. CF!

hedgebackwards · 22/04/2018 22:42

No, User1234whatever the OP doesn't need any tuition, she did the right thing and pulled over where it was safe to do so.

The other driver was in the wrong, firstly by hitting the rear of her car and secondly by driving off, and the DP was in the wrong by shouting at her and distracting her while she was negotiating a roundabout after a shunt and trying to find somewhere to pull in.

OP - your other half is an arse.

If you stopped close enough to be considered "at the scene" I think there's no problem and I wouldn't bother reporting it to the police. (Personally I wouldn't bother reporting the other driver for failing to stop if there's no damage to my car.)

But the real problem here is your DH's attitude and behaviour towards you. Shouting and screaming isn't helpful and shouldn't be normal.
