Flying at 29 weeks

My DP is from Europe, his family is large so it's easier for us to visit them before the baby is here, but the only time I could get from work was first week of July, when I'll be 29 weeks...

Anyone else flown this late?

Should add, first pregnancy, so far so good.

Yes, I flew to Hong Kong and back at over 7 months. Pregnancy isn't an illness.

I flew at 28 weeks (and several times earlier in the pregnancy). I think most airlines require a doctor's note after 28 weeks. And make sure you have decent travel insurance.

I think it was 32 weeks was the "stop flying" date when I was PG (DD is 12 now). Whatever it was, I had a lot of flying in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters (I flew to Cuba at 10 weeks, home at 12 weeks, and then lots of short haul around Europe), and my final trip was going to Belgium for the 2nd last week, DH joined me there for the weekend, and then we split at the airport where he went home and I flew on to Switzerland for the last week. I actually hit the "do not fly" date formally on the Wednesday in Sw, but flew home on Friday (I had a GP letter and no one raised an eyebrow).

I was lucky having loads of energy while pg, and I was pretty used to flying (although I burst out crying on my final takeoff, as I knew it was the end of that phase of life for at least a decade - and signs on it was - but I was grand by the time the trolley wheeled around and I got a nice hot cup of tea!!).

Have plenty of water, be prepared to feel uncomfortable (try and get an aisle seat and near the loo if possible, and extra legroom also if possible).

Check the airline rules, get the GP letter, and bring your notes (you almost certainly won't need them, but it's one of those things that it's better to have them if you do need them!).

I went on a 2.5 hour flight at 34 weeks, it was a bit more uncomfortable then usual, but there's a big difference in how I felt at 34 and 29 weeks.

You will likely need a fit to fly letter and your travel insurance will need to know you're pregnant.

I flew at 32/33 weeks - 4 hour flight. I had to get a fit to fly letter (required by the airline). It was absolutely fine.
