to be a bit peed off with breaks

Ok, so I started a job about 6 months ago in a special needs school (PMLD mostly involved) which I really enjoy. I love the students and working with them.
I earn pretty crap pay as most TAs do and I took the job so am fine with it BUT in my contract it states I am entitled to 1/2 hour lunch break.
I start at 8.30 am and finish at 3.30PM and working in this environment can be pretty full on as you can imagine.

Anyway, there is no staff room which I am not really used to and so staff (TAs and tutors) have to eat in the classroom which can be fairly messy and most times not very clean. Plus often there are students in there too.
I often go out to the carpark and have lunch in my car just to have a break from it.
However on one or two days a week I often don't get the half hour due to schedule. I had just over 10 minute today and came home exhausted to my own 3 kids. I didn't even have time to eat properly.
I just feel that everyone should deserve a proper break but nobody else seems to say anything. (apart one lady who has just resigned) so I plod on with it.
Am I being petty or is this something I should be concerned with?

Just to add to the above the more senior members of the team have their own offices.

Our TAs wouldn’t put up with this! Talk to your teacher or whoever line manages you.

But don’t complain about senior staff having their own offices!

Thanks parrot, I won't complain about that. It was just to mention that they had somewhere private to eat their lunch!! hehe

You definitely need half an hour though - unless under exceptional circumstances occasionally.
