To put my clothes pegs in the dishwasher

We finally have line drying weather but my poor pegs have been neglected over the winter and are frankly filthy. I could wash them by hand but I'm just wondering about the dishwasher...

Is there any reason why this might go wrong?

That is genuis I don't see why not

I put them in a smalls bag in the washing machine, came out shiny.

Some broke, but they were the plastic ones that go brittle if they're left out in the sun too long I think.

My mum told me off for leaving them on the dryer apparently it made the dryer look untidy but i really cba bringing them in

I wash horse bits and stirrups in my dishwasher and it's never done it any harm so I think pegs would be fine!

Maybe I'll try them in a bag in the washing machine

Yeah, you need a fine smalls bag, in case bits come off.

I wash shoes in those as well, with towels in, and tennis balls, and anything plastic.

Depends what they are made of ... all plastic probably fine. Anything else not so much ... the salt in dishwasher not necessarily good for metal spring type and the temp not good for the traditional dolly type. I would use the lingerie sort of nylon bag/old pillowcase tied and low temp washing machine option.
