DD has been offered a place in an academically selective prep for year 2 entry next Jan. We are moving back to the UK from abroad. We will be selling/buying. I'm hesitating to pay for next autumn term at her current school as I doubt we will use much of it. I was thinking of using that term to visit family (take a cheap term time holiday!) and get settled into our new house but this will require me to figure out how exactly to go about home ed. Am I mad? Has anyone done anything like it?

I would find out what topics the school will be covering in the autumn term, so that you can make sure your dd is on the same level when she starts.

I.e. So she's up to date with the maths topics covered etc.

Maybe the period of history they've looked at.
