FFS This is getting annoying, explosions happening 2-3 times a evening. Some kids are playing with Home made bombs. It’s scaring the chickens and the dogs. It’s unsociable!

This afternoon after the last one DH and a neighbor went to try and confront the kids. They took a couple handguns just in case the situation turned violent but didn’t find them.

If we find out who it is we will let the police know. But seriously who set off bombs for fun! Yes I know we live in a remote location but people know we are here.

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 16/04/2018 04:01

Where the hell do you live? Shock

steff13 · 16/04/2018 04:05

I would call the police, regardless of whether I knew who it was. Where on earth do you live?

digestOfDigest · 16/04/2018 04:09

'Merica?

MrsTerryPratchett · 16/04/2018 04:53

Your husband and a friend went out WITH GUNS to confront children? Wow.

ScrewYouTalkingTom · 16/04/2018 04:56

@MrsTerryPratchett I’m glad I’m not the only one who had this reaction! When people say kids I imagine under 12’s! I would call the police immediately if this happened near me, never mind rushing after them with weapons!

Storminateapot · 16/04/2018 04:59

They went out with hand guns to tackle children?? I take it you're not in the UK? Not sure what to suggest, the situation doesn't really compute Confused

AltheaorDonna · 16/04/2018 05:39

Pipe bombs? Guns? Where on earth do you live?

SunsetOnTheHorizon · 16/04/2018 05:43

Perhaps the op is trying to put us in the shoes of the Syrians??

SparklyMagpie · 16/04/2018 05:47

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 16/04/2018 06:16

Ok playing with pipe bombs is stupid dangerous and anti social but your husband abd and neighbour went out with guns Shock Hmm

How did you think that would help, im sorry but threatening kids with a gun is disgusting

Like everyone else im guessing your in america some where, but if not your behaviour is not normal.

JeNeSuisPasVotreMiel · 16/04/2018 06:19

TheHumanMothboy · 16/04/2018 06:22

She may be in America, but making pipe bombs and threatening children are not normal or legal here.

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 16/04/2018 07:43

Sorry steff i missphased that, it was more the way the op seemed to think it was normal to have handguns in the house. I appolgise for my stupid generalisation.

I agree threatening chuldren with guns is mot nornal or is making pipe bombs

Sty90 · 16/04/2018 11:43

It’s early morning here, just to clarify:
Yes I am in the US
This is normally a very quiet safe area
Very low population
I assume it’s 16-18 year olds so older kids
No this is not a reverse

They had guns in the truck with them just in case the situation turned violent against them. They have no idea how many there were and how they would react to being told to go away.

We will probably let the sheriff know but he is one guy policing a area the size of Dorset and Wiltshire, so he isn’t around much

No one thinks the pipe bomb thing is ok,Honestly just call the police, its not yours or your husnands place to take justice in to your own hands despite what your president says. It is your duty to report it to the right law enforcement agencies.

Sorry but the majority of people on this forum will find your attitude to guns difficult. The way you talk about guns so casually is concerning. I understand that people think like that in the states but jeez.

Sty90 · 16/04/2018 12:40

I do understand the British view on firearms as I am (was) British lived in the US for a few years now.

I have just reported it, the sheriff will check it out when he is up this way next week. In the mean time if we can get him a license plate he can look them up.

I'm not really sure that posting on a UK based parenting chat forum with an overwhelmingly British usership was the best use of time and resources for you.

Yes, we are all going to find this unreasonable if you are still wondering.

Having 'a couple handguns' around the place isn't normal or acceptable for pretty much anyone here, especially if you are going to take them outside to threaten minors with.

Sheesh. And we wonder why Trump has so much support.

Focktrot · 16/04/2018 14:29

Clip-clop.

GoodMorning1 · 16/04/2018 14:32

They had guns in the truck with them just in case the situation turned violent against them.

You do realise that taking guns with you makes it more likely that situation will turn violent? This is why most developed countries don't allow just anyone to walk around with guns.

It's no wonder children in the US think its okay to make and set off home made bombs if the example adults set them involves everyone walking round with guns!

Bonnetdedeuce · 20/12/2018 19:34

Thank fuck I live in the uk the most dangerous thing in my house is a tin opener

PotteringAlong · 20/12/2018 19:39

Pipe bombs
Hand guns

They both kill people. You are all being unreasonable.
