Can I nudge the snorer

I'm in bed all snuggly waiting to drift off, but dh is now snoring!! Noo!

I've coughed, rolled over a few times, coughed again,
He is so tired I don't want to forcefully wake him but I can't stand it!! Ahh

Should I nudge him?

Yes.

dementedpixie · 13/04/2018 22:47

I use elbows often!

PullUpsAreTricky · 13/04/2018 22:47

deffo

JennyBaro · 13/04/2018 22:47

I tend to give my DP a gentle push. I have been known to hold his nose however when it's been really bad and I've been awake all night. IWBU.

CannaeBeErsed · 13/04/2018 22:47

Bounce a bit! That always works for me (and DH when I'm the snorer)

Itsallpropaganda · 13/04/2018 22:47

Yes. We fall out over this all the time. Apparently it's fine for him to deprive me of sleep by snoring like a fucking wild animal but it's totally out of order for me to disturb him. He's been away for a whole week and it's been bloody lovely 😊

Ivorbig1 · 13/04/2018 22:48

Coughing fit, very loudly. Shaking leg syndrome, roll over abruptly. All are permissible imo.
How are you trying to sleep if you are on mn?

Sarsparella · 13/04/2018 22:48

Is he on his back? Just roll him over, that’s what I do

DinkyDaisy · 13/04/2018 22:48

Yes. A nudge is kinder than what I have done in the past...
Sleeping somewhere else often the only option for me. Cannot cope with loud snoring and we both get much wanted sleep.
DH snoring penetrates walls...

Ivorbig1 · 13/04/2018 22:49

Spare duvet and sofa await for one of you.

foxpink · 13/04/2018 22:50

I just gently gave him a push and said turn over love, ( tho I was saying it diff in my head ) it gets so loud like a rhino! It's been about 1 min and he's quiter! 🤞🤞🤞!

ShatnersBassoon · 13/04/2018 22:50

Yes, a nudge at least. Is he on his back? DH is like a Pez dispenser if he sleeps on his back, gob gaping open to create a snore amplifying cavern. I give him a firmnudge and hiss 'turn over!'.

elQuintoConyo · 13/04/2018 22:51

I used to tell SHARK! But then we got a dog, who sleeps on the bed. Poor love was on the ceiling the first time i shouted it, so i have had to shelve that.

I now do the more polite face-stroke until he wakes up a little and rolls over technique. Poor man, sounds like a pig sucking jelly through a straw.

Longdistance · 13/04/2018 22:51

My dh gets a nudge. If he continues my arm gives him a slap. After that it’s a kick 🤷🏼‍♀️

I cannot tolerate snoring, it’s just unnecessary noise to fuck me off and not get any sleep 😴

SaucyJane · 13/04/2018 22:52

Itsall - Oh god, do we have the same partner? We have that argument almost nightly!

elQuintoConyo · 13/04/2018 22:52

Yell, not tell. Ffs

DinkyDaisy · 13/04/2018 22:52

Hope he stays in 'position'.
Honestly cannot cope with loud snoring and cannot sleep.
I love my own snore free space- be that a sofa bed or my youngest kid's bottom bunk!

TammyTheWife · 13/04/2018 22:52

Do whatever it takes

foxpink · 13/04/2018 22:53

Think it's worked for now!! I best put phone down and try to fall asleep before he starts getting louder!

Goodnight everyone!!

foxpink · 13/04/2018 22:54

Oh ffs!! That didn't take long 😼!! Lol

TiredAndIrrational · 13/04/2018 22:54

Pez dispenser Grin

That cheered me up. I've been a miserable cow today . . .

strawberrypenguin · 13/04/2018 22:56

I always nudge if I get woken by DH snoring. If that doesn't work we sometimes gets a forceful prod with my foot too

CadyHeron · 13/04/2018 22:57

Polite face stroke?! There's kinder posters on here than me, lol.
If I thought that was going to do anything, of course I'd go for that option.
With DH though,he's all or nothing. Usually he's "OMG, is he actually still breathing...." - although give him a couple of drinks and he's jet engine taking off.
Fingers poking in the back making out you're asleep and didn't mean to if he does wake up.
Or loud throat clearing and "tossing and turning" until he packs it in lol.
Usually works. If it resumes then resume poking getting harder until it stops again lol

milkysmum · 13/04/2018 22:57

I tend to pinch his nose

DinkyDaisy · 13/04/2018 22:59

Sofabed?!
Snoring sets me off to screeching, swearing, shouty mode.
Cannot cope when chainsaw starts.
Whole family had awful night in a family room with dh. Night before a wedding. All [apart from dh] had shadows under our eyes and were knackered for my brother's wedding. I could have committed a major crime. He is lucky he survived the night. Then another night of it [plus drink and food fuelled] after wedding...
