To not believe my dentist

Posting here for traffic. Will try to summarise...been at dentist for last 12 years as NHS patient. Been taken over by new company and all old dentists left. They are now saying we were never NHS patients - despite being given the blue forms to sign at every 6 month check up. I cannot understand how this is possible. Any experience of this or dentists out there that can clarify?
Thanks

My old dentist tried pulling that with a waiting room of patients one day...even though we were all NHS patients....I rang up another dental surgery that day, asked if they accepted NHS patients, they did, made an appointment to join (filled in paperwork to join just before appointment)and it was the best thing ever as I went from having a so-so dentist to having a really nice one that takes care not to hurt me...

Drop him like hot coals.

If he can pull a stunt like that, he is almost certainly going to “find issues” with your teeth in checkups and potentially give you treatment you don’t need - something that has happened to me, and IMO a filled tooth is never the same as a complete one.

Switch dentists.

Like every profession in life there are great, good and shit dentists.
