Why can’t she just take a compliment?

I have this friend who has 4 kids and is a SAHM. We don’t live in the same town anymore, so keep in touch on Facebook. She is driving me bonkers, every time she posts about taking her kids away for the day or going on a UK break, I’m always posting,”Looks like you had a great time” or something similar, her kids always look really happy. Anyhow after I write this, she ALWAYS posts about they only have one wage coming in and they have to make do etc.... AIBU that I am fed up with this?? Just happy she’s having a nice time with her family, don’t need her financial woes EVERYTIME! Hmm

Either stop commenting, or be brave and tell her why you are going to stop commenting. That will give her a chance to stop.

QueenOfAccidentalDeathStares · 12/04/2018 15:47

do you comment on everything she posts?

SaucyJack · 12/04/2018 15:51

She's obviously got a guilt complex about being "economically inactive". Maybe she feels judged for spending tax credits, or for not being able to keep up with the joneses, or whatever else.

Just tell her you don't need the ins and outs, and to stop apologizing for spending time with her family.

Scotsmum2017 · 12/04/2018 15:52

No, don’t comment on everything, not a mad stalker type!! It’s not just me she writes these comments to on her posts, it’s all very odd. I know I don’t need to comment, look at her posts etc. Just wondering why she can’t just like the comment or say thanks.

Yes that would be a bit irritating, but it's not something I'd give enough headspace to write a thread about. Grin
