To complain about delivery guy

So I was expecting a package to be delivered today and have stayed home especially, it had to be signed for. Heard the van arrive and made my way to the door. He never knocked. I opened the door to see him jump back into his van and drive off. No parcel on the doorstep, no card put through the letterbox. Looked around couldn't see it. Checked email from delivery company, where you can track the progress of your delivery and the CF has said I've signed for it. Wtf.

Yes complain asap.

Anewhope · 11/04/2018 09:53

Check your bin. Hermes did this to me and left my parcel in my black bin. Absolutely baffling and very annoying.

Eggzandbacon · 11/04/2018 09:53

Yes complain and tell them you will contact the police about theft if they don’t sort ASAP

Shadowboy · 11/04/2018 09:55

Amazon have done this to me a few times. But I’ve rung and had the item resent. Hasn’t happened for the last 3/4 months - it happened a lot round Christmas.

kimanda · 11/04/2018 09:57

Well you HAVE to complain if the parcel isn't anywhere about.

He either - couldn't be arsed to wait, and dumped it somewhere on your land, or he is a tealeaf, and has kept it.

Either way report it NOW. Even if it's in your leccie cupboard, he should not be doing this.

MyHermes are known for doing shit like this. Was it them?

LimonViola · 11/04/2018 10:00

Contact the delivery company to see if you can get the item.

But to complain you need to contact the merchant you bought the item from in the first place and let them sort it out, not the delivery company. Your contract is with the shop to get your item to you that you've paid money for. How they do that is down to them. So let them sort it out. It's the only way crap companies like Hermes are ever held to account, if shops get enough complaints or are inconvenienced enough by having to resend or replace items they'll soon change to a better delivery company.

I had a parcel delivered by Hermes last week
I was a bit distracted trying to stop Ddog escaping so I didn’t clock the size of the parcel.
2 expensive items had been removed but 1 cheaper one left, invoice also missing and the parcel resealed with Hermes Tape. Parcel obviously been cut open, items stolen and then resealed
Debenhams have refunded me so I’m not out of pocket but it’s pretty outrageous. I have messaged Hermes but they seem to be giving no shits

snowagain · 11/04/2018 10:17

Have you found the package yet @tazzyb?

And have you phoned the company to complain?

So the delivery company was dpd, have tried to phone but can't get through, so I've emailed them and then been outside to look around again, I mean it must be out there somewhere right?

I've always found dpd to be good. But if you download their app you can get them on live chat. Or get through on phone much quicker

cricketballs3 · 11/04/2018 10:45

The van may have not been the one delivering your parcel - I live in a very small cul-de-sac and often see delivery to one of my neighbours and the same company delivering to me a lot later that same day

SavoyCabbage · 11/04/2018 10:50

That’s true Cricket. My neighbour has had a DPD delivery and a few hours later I’ve had one from the same driver. DPD are the best for letting you know when your parcel will be delivered.

billyt · 11/04/2018 11:41

Yes, but OP said it had been signed for!
