To cut a mattress topper in half?

We’ve bought a new mattress and I’m not sure I like it. DH likes firm I like slightly softer. I caved in and went for his choice even though I thought it was a little firm. Now I’m laid here with back ache. It’s only the first night and I know I need to give it a chance but I feel like I’m laying on concrete. We have a memory foam topper from previous mattress. He says it’s too soft and hot for him. Can I cut it in half and just put on my side of the bed??!

The stuffing might come out unless you stitch it, but i don't see why not

I've cut a memory foam topper in half before (bought a double for a single bed by mistake). It worked perfectly.

Can you try to fold it in half first, so it only covers your side? I'd be wary about cutting it and ending up with a weird seam that you can't undo, so I'd tray that first.

Try*

Yes, what PeanutButterSquash said - try folding first, it'll be much less hassle.

Thanks I’ll try folding. Although it is 5cm thick flat so would be 10cm folded! Can’t help but think we are going to end up in a princess and the pea like situation 😂

Why don't you get a single mattress topper?

Mrsjones17 · 11/04/2018 05:43

@teewee just being tight really when I already have a perfectly good double. Was hoping I wouldn’t need to buy another one
