Why do good things happen to bad people?

I know this question has been asked before but I am just feeling really down and wanting to vent.

I just discovered that someone who treated me really badly in the past is doing really well and it's so frustrating. I know I should just try and forget about it but it's really upsetting to see this shit doing so well, when I have suffered so much. Argh. Just feels like there is no justice.

cos sometimes life is just shit

you'll get plenty of answers here saying

  1. Life is too short, move on!
  1. Being bitter only hurts you, not the other person...
  1. Try to find inner happiness and the other person won't hurt you so much
  1. You might even get the perennial MN favourite, see your gp....

....and other shit

basically, life isnt fair, its as simple as that

If you're judging this on their social media presence remember that people choose what they post to put a positive spin on their lives. It might not actually be that great!

I'm sure you're doing fine too, think about all the good things in your life.

Because life isn't fair.
I'm sorry, it sucks. Flowers

Trinity66 · 10/04/2018 13:06

Because Karma doesn't exist :p

MrsAJ27 · 10/04/2018 13:07

ssd got it in one!

Sorry your feeling like this iskarmareal

Bluelady · 10/04/2018 13:08

Because karma does exist but often takes a while.

SparklyMagpie · 10/04/2018 13:08

Oh I have asked myself this too many times to remember after the shit I've been through, but you know what, the best thing you can do is focus on yourself and your life, make any changes you see fit etc.

I know what you mean, I struggled for a long time after I went through hell and back with a court case, I used to read online what he was doing and seeing how his life recovered...

But I look at what I have now and I'm so thankful I do...my life is far from perfect but I focus on those little things

It's so very hard,I understand

NorthEndGal · 10/04/2018 13:09

Because being good or bad doesn't determine what happened to you, only how you respond to it.

Good and bad people have both good and bad luck, there is no great Karma Queen or something going around deciding who gets what fates.

GorgeousJaws · 10/04/2018 13:09

Because bad things happen to good people too.

Sorry you're having a hard time.

purplelass · 10/04/2018 13:11

Are you sure things are going so well though? People can be very good at pretending... console yourself with that?

Hope you find your happy soon Smile

BarbarianMum · 10/04/2018 13:12

Of course there is no justice. Hmm Do you really think the families being nerve-gassed in Syria, or the children starving in Yemen or all those with cancer somehow deserve their fate.

Bad things happen to good people. And if you are bad you can still be lucky.

Ansumpasty · 10/04/2018 13:22

Becsuse the whole ‘good things happen to good people’ is a load of crap. 2 years olds die of horrible things and some murderers and rapists never get caught and live a long and heathy, happy life.
Try and ignore everything to do with that person

Trinity66 · 10/04/2018 13:45

Because karma does exist but often takes a while.

Nah

BoobleMcB · 10/04/2018 13:50

Same reason as why bad things happen to good people. Life's fucked up

immortalmarble · 10/04/2018 13:52

You could take off all your clothes and sit outside at moonlight whispering English poetry for karma? Wink
