AIBU to ask for a handhold?

My wonderful husband is in surgery right now. Its a relatively minor procedure, requiring general anaesthesia. However, we were told he'd be down for 45 minutes. Two and a half hours later, and he's still not back.

He's going to be recovering somewhere else in the hospital, isn't he? He is fine somewhere.

I hope that he is well and is out of surgery soon. Handholding, OP.

I'm here, I'm sure all is well. Why don't you go and ask for an update?

This always throws me - they say the surgery will be a certain time, but forget that you'll be stressing all of the time he's in recovery.

Don't forget he could have been late going in too.

Feel for you - been there, done the panicking, and I'm sure all is fine. Hope your DH recovers well.

Thank you all. He is back up. It's a relief. The reason he was down for so long is because they've fixed something too. It's brilliant news, huge relief.
