To consider a nose piercing? Workplace policies?

I had one as a teenager and loved it, unfortunately I had to take it out due to a silly injury and it healed over by the time my nose was healed.

I really want it done again, and have for years, but I’m about to start a new job (just an office one) and have no idea how acceptable or not a nose stud is.

Considering getting it done now so I can get most of the healing out of the way first before I start work, and then I can swap it to a smaller stud rather than the piercing one if work has a problem. But part of me thinks I’m being an idiot and workplaces won’t accept any piercing.

would it be silly to do this?

Should add I have a visible tattoo which wasn’t a problem at interview, but it’s also easy to cover with a cardigan so I don’t know if I’ll be asked to do that when I start.

Just ask your workplace. Ours accepts them but the couple of people who have them have quite discreet small studs

I've worked in offices where the most alternative individuals are valued team members through to offices where they were extremely prescriptive and corporate and only one pair of earrings for women allowed type thing. I personally wouldn't do anything until you get the job. Then you can see how the land lies. Good luck :)

I've had a nose stud since I was 16 and it's never stopped me getting good jobs. It's just a small plain silver stud, though.

Thanks. The type I want is just a small stud, nothing fancy or too out there. The office I worked in before was fine with tattoos, piercings and crazy hair but I know some places are more conservative which is what I’m worried about. I don’t have a start date yet because I’m waiting for references, but will ask when I do.
