Very short version:

I recently took up a sport which means I have training on a Tuesday. Husband has a sport for which he trains on a Thursday, so equal training time for both.

I injured myself so have not been able to attend training for four weeks, but intended to go tomorrow.

Husband has made plans to go to the pub for champions league football tomorrow, and is irked that I have told him I'm going to training so he will need to be at home with the children.

For clarity - ordinarily it wouldn't be an issue but I've missed a lot of training recently, plus he's been crap in the last week or two with pulling his weight at home, so I don't feel inclined to accommodate him (e.g. my recent thread about plonking himself on the sofa all day Saturday for the football after we agreed a family day, or neglecting the one small job asked of him before going out for the evening)

So, AIBU?

Nope!

Yanbu

Can't he just watch it at home?

Trinity66 · 09/04/2018 21:40

No

troodiedoo · 09/04/2018 21:42

No yanbu. He can watch at home. Everyone's a winner.

Of course you’re not UR. It’s Tuesday night. That’s youre night. He could have asked if you were staying home or going out but he doesn’t get to be miffed that you’re going out on your pre agreed night to go out.

YANBU (and I speak as someone who likes football)

Nunyabusiness · 09/04/2018 21:49

Thanks all - that's strengthened my resolve, I'm off to training and he will have to suck it up!

Had he been less selfish of late, I'd have probably conceded, and I intend to make that clear to him...
