Walking home from school today and my 4yr old DC3 was walking slightly ahead of me and DC2 on the pavement. The pavement is a shared one with a cycle lane on the outer side of the pavement. We were very much on the pedestrian bit. Just as we were nearing another school and right by a pedestrian crossing a car pulled up onto the pavement at speed to park on the cycle lane, in doing so the front of the car came onto the pedestrian bit by at least a couple of feet.
The car came within inches of DD3 and DD2 jumped forward and dragged DD3 clear of the car. She was walking along in her own little world and hadn’t noticed the car at all. I took a photo of car and driver parked up as I was so shaken, the photo shows she’s actually about a foot over the line into the pedestrian bit!
So should I report it and who to? Ringing 101 seems a bit over dramatic but it does need sorting out.
