Walking home from school today and my 4yr old DC3 was walking slightly ahead of me and DC2 on the pavement. The pavement is a shared one with a cycle lane on the outer side of the pavement. We were very much on the pedestrian bit. Just as we were nearing another school and right by a pedestrian crossing a car pulled up onto the pavement at speed to park on the cycle lane, in doing so the front of the car came onto the pedestrian bit by at least a couple of feet.

The car came within inches of DD3 and DD2 jumped forward and dragged DD3 clear of the car. She was walking along in her own little world and hadn’t noticed the car at all. I took a photo of car and driver parked up as I was so shaken, the photo shows she’s actually about a foot over the line into the pedestrian bit!

So should I report it and who to? Ringing 101 seems a bit over dramatic but it does need sorting out.

Take it to the local police station. Your photographic evidence will be invaluable. At least future pedestrians might be safer when the cops have a word in the drivers ear.

This might also be worthwhile?

Thanks rang 101 in the end who appear to be taking it seriously.

Autumnal I will keep that in mind for next time as the walk to and from school is a nightmare.

Omg! Did you speak to the driver? I'd not be able to keep my cool about that!
Glad 101 are taking it serious!

Unhomme · 09/04/2018 18:51

I think we need to see the photo too...

flumpybear · 09/04/2018 18:53

Wow!! I'd have really had a few choice words to say and would absolutely report Angry

BettyBaggins · 09/04/2018 18:54

Well done to your DD2 for such swift action. Hope the children are ok. Must of been rather scary!

Report it on the police website. I had a minor accident and the police told me to do that.
