I am planning a visit to konditor and cook tomorrow in central London as I am craving cake and I wondered what cake would anyone who has been there before would recommend??! Am going to the chancery lane branch and am wondering if anyone knows how much seating they've have in that branch???

The famous one is the curly whirly cake. So that's probably the one to try 😊

But personally I like the lemon chiffon as I only really like lemon cake!

dinosaursandtea · 08/04/2018 20:47

All of them.

user1471556443 · 08/04/2018 20:48

Thanks saucy Jane, yes I am definitely planning on trying the curly whirly one!

Not much seating at Chancery Lane.

I almost always get curly whirley.

I've never had anything bad in K&C. But Curly Whirly cake is absolute heaven.

Ok, looks like curly whirly cake is definitely one choice! We will be getting three pieces of cake - one for me and one each for the dc, any other suggestions??

Carrot cake and brownies! You have to try their brownies!

SaucyJane · 08/04/2018 20:57

They used to do a fab toffee cake but not sure they still do. That was amazing, having said I will normally only eat lemon drizzle Grin

Gin and Tonic cake. And I'm not even joking!

Tainrainrain · 08/04/2018 21:06

I love the chocolate noisette. The hot chocolate is amazing.

piefacedClique · 08/04/2018 21:07

Lemon chiffon.... but only because they don’t do the lemon crunch anymore....

DatsunCogs · 08/04/2018 22:29

The brownies, definitely. There's not much seating there, a window bench and one table to share when I last looked

piefacedClique · 08/04/2018 22:34

I’d its dry get a takeaway and sit in the gardens at grays inn..... you can cut through grays inn itself, go through the arch opposite konditoe and cook, cross the square and go through the arch in the opposite side.... there is a lovely garden there on the right hand side xxx

UncomfortableBadger · 08/04/2018 22:40

They do a passionfruit one which is bloody brilliant! Smile

Sashkin · 08/04/2018 22:55

Curly whirly
Chocolate noisette
Lemon chiffon

Or just get a box of brownies! The brownies are fab.

LondonCrone · 08/04/2018 23:08

Prosecco and passionfruit! When it came back this month my whole office went up in a cheer. It’s insane.

NambiBambi · 08/04/2018 23:56

Curly whirly. They also used to do a really lovely chocolate bombe with a sort of marzipan layer. I have the recipe book and I haven't actually got around to making any of them - just started a healthy eating kick but now I am salivating at the thought of curly whirly cake and the cream cheese brownies recipe!

TizzleBizzle · 08/04/2018 23:59

Lemon chiffon every day of the week.

PassTheAfterEights · 09/04/2018 00:04

Chocolate noisette & curly whirly in that order and a box of Boston brownies if you're making the trip anyway! And the little magic cakes are YUM.

user1471556443 · 09/04/2018 17:13

So I went to konditor and cook and yes the chocolate brownies were absolutely superb!! However I wasn't that impressed with the chocolate noisette cake or with the curly whirly cake - the thick icing was really sickly
