Lumpectomy Reaction

Hi

I’m new to this; so please bare with me : )

I recently had a lumpectomy (lump removed from the breast) of my breast; as the doctors found a benign tumour. I was told I would also lose my nipple due to the position of the lump. I found the lump while I was pregnant, she is now 6 months old

This has been about 3/4 weeks now and I’m healing fine, the other day I wanted to show my partner how it was coming along as the wound had healed. I took my bra off and the first thing he did was pull a face like he had caught a bad smell - sorry that's the best way I could describe it (I was in shock) and the first thing he said while pointing at my breast was “Can they not do something about it?” (while pulling that face)

AIBU as I took both his facial reaction and comment very negatively - he knew the whole process and what would be happening

Wow. That was massively insensitive of him.

Does he have form for that or was this out of character?

What the actual fuck!? You have had serious surgery that is healing. Is your partner usually such an arse wipe? I literally cannot fathom some one having so little empathy or care.

I’m speechless Shock does he have form for being an insensitive twat?? I had a mastectomy 2 years ago and DH has never made a single negative comment about how I look, he saw me right after my operation and told me i was as beautiful as ever.
You are owed an apology, a very big grovelling apology.
