Because he's been ill since Saturday with it?
I'm in no doubt it's just that as symptoms fit exactly what nhs says but he's felt poorly and had a temp for 4 days now, it's this normal?

Could it be scarlet fever rather than slapped cheek? Maybe phone the doctor for advice?

moita · 03/04/2018 09:24

I'd also phone to speak to someone.

MollyDaydream · 03/04/2018 09:25

Is he just feeling poorly and a temp? I wouldn't take them to the gp unless really unwell or not keeping fluids down.

CheeseyToast · 03/04/2018 09:31

I would. Hope he feels better soon.

bobstersmum · 03/04/2018 09:41

I don't think it's scarlet fever because it started on cheeks and looks exactly like slapped cheek and the only rash on body is light spotty rash that itches him a little bit. I thought slapped cheek was something and nothing, but he's needing Calpol regularly otherwise his temp is up and he feels crappy.
I feel like I always at the gp with him and I'm sure they think Im crazy but it's one thing after another with him!

Personally I would give it a couple more days. They do have a temperature and feel ill with slapped cheek. Unless there is anything particularly worrying (like a really high temp or he's getting a lot worse)
I would keep him at home alternate calpol and ibuprofen and lots of fluids and cuddles.
It's viral so there's not really anything else you can do. Hope he feels better soonThanks

moita · 03/04/2018 09:42

Personally I'd always get a rash checked out

tartiflette · 07/04/2018 21:36

OP how is he now?
Did you go to the GP?

My DD now has it - or at least I think that's it as others in her class have had it recently - rash on cheeks came yesterday and today she has a mild temp and is under the weather.

Other DD is now complaining of tummy ache/nausea. So am on lookout for rash on her too... Just wondering how long to expect them to feel ill for.

My daughter is on day 6 of slapped cheek. She has had a high temperature every day and the usual symptoms for it. She is on the mend today.
