I have been listening to her chewing loudly and smacking her lips together for the last two hours.

I think I might actually go insane!!

Stand in front of her and do exactly the same until she gets the hint.

ScreamingValenta · 02/04/2018 14:05

The idea of chewing gum makes me feel sick, and I have to look away if I see someone chewing - audible chewing is beyond the pale Easter Shock.

Does it annoy me? If I were you I'd be dangling her out a window by her ankles by now.

Cannot STAND loud eating/chewing noises. I generally stick my headphones on at work when the bovine chompers start up.

TidyDancer · 02/04/2018 14:47

I have a colleague who eats really loudly. It's infuriating. She doesn't seem to care. People have made direct comments to her about it in the past but nothing changes. She is also a tea slurper. Some days I could kill her without a single regret.

TaytoAllDay · 02/04/2018 15:10

It's so infuriating isn't it! Really grates on my nerves.

@zibbido that made me laugh, will do so tomorrow

@tidydancer oh god, people have made comments about it to her & she hasn't stopped? I would be so embarrassed if I were her !! Shock

I would not be able to bear that! Are earplugs or earphones an option?

TidyDancer · 02/04/2018 15:23

I don't think she cares, or possibly she thinks it's not a problem and people aren't being serious regarding their comments about it. She's a very dominating personality in the office and any criticism about anything just goes right over her head. She just believes herself to be absolutely right about everything. I don't think it occurs to her that she is the constant irritant of the whole office.

DaviesMum · 02/04/2018 15:42

This drives me insane. It actually amazes me that anyone could be so fucking ill mannered as to chew or eat with their mouth open.

When I see (not so young) children doing it in restaurants, in particular, you need only look to the parents to see they are exactly the same.

YANBU and I share your pain!

TaytoAllDay · 02/04/2018 16:37

@rachel0greep I'm actually going to buy those wireless iPhone ear phones so I can put one in my right ear so I can block it out!

@tidydancer she sounds like exactly the kind of person I would dislike, how people are so shameless is beyond me

@daviesmum honestly it's terrible, exactly - they learn it off their parents. I just don't understand why people can't learn basic social etiquette Hmm

I know this doesn't help you with the problem, but I am so glad this drives other people up the wall and it isn't just me. I swear I could sometimes run amok with a flamethrower when there is a noisy chewer around.
