Where in the South east or South West (approx. 1hr max. from London). Would you recommend to live? On your own, with young children, therefore state schools both primary and secondary big consideration. Along with good transport links for work -car or train. All on a small budget - 250K, 300K limit (Looking for a house, small 3 bed terraced most realistic).
Outpriced out of London and surrounding counties. (Kent and Essex too far out of way, need west side of London for work).
Parts of Berkshire may just be affordable, Newbury, Theale, etc (Reading, Wokingham too expensive)?
South West, Wiltshire seems to be best price and commutable but not so eager on Swindon.
Also looking online at houses in Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes? Possibly Oxfordshire?
Suggestions please, anywhere else in this part of England that I can afford with good schools, transport links and childcare!
