A man who played the violin and wrote poetry?

We're from completely different worlds. I don't know whether we could merge the two.

Yes?! What’s wrong with a man being creative? Why are you so different, I’m sure he does other stuff too!

Gileswithachainsaw · 31/03/2018 20:33

If you like eachother why not?

Aprilmightmemynewname · 31/03/2018 20:34

With all that creativity you may be in for an exciting ride op!
(possible euphemism!!)

Allthewaves · 31/03/2018 20:34

I'd gI've it a whirl. Sometimes opposites work

Jaimx86 · 31/03/2018 20:35

Most certainly... if he didn't brag.

DusktilDawn · 31/03/2018 20:35

He just seems so "proper" and I'm so Yorkshire Grin. I just wonder what he sees in me which I know is really sad..

Yes I would . My friend who only travels first class, is immaculately turned out , stays in lovely hotels etc , got chatting to a man on line, no pics were exchanged but they talked online for ages. They decided to meet up, the chap that walked towards my friend had baggy shorts on , a fishing hat and Hawaiian shirt ! So so so not her type ! They have now been married for 8 years and are very happy.

I'd go for it , opposites attract and all that.

BrazzleDazzleDay · 31/03/2018 20:37

I wouldn't like to listen to the violin or pretend to be interested in poetry, so no probably not

ListeningtoBowie · 31/03/2018 20:42

I bet he will be really interesting and passionate 😉

DusktilDawn · 31/03/2018 20:45

He's seems very interesting. Here's hoping he's passionate as well Wink

I married one of those. They're quite lovely. Especially if you get them just after a really good gig, if you get my drift... ;)

Thistlebelle · 31/03/2018 20:47

Yes but then I like violin music and I like poetry.

On the other hand on the surface my DH and I don’t appear to have much in common but we’ve been properly loved up for decades.

RoryHatesCoffee · 31/03/2018 20:47

Why would you write someone off because they have talents? Hmm

DairyisClosed · 31/03/2018 20:50

Yes. I mean what is the problem? Do you just hate violins or something? Those are actually fairly unobtrusive hobbies when you think about it. He could be part of a sports team requiring three train sessions a week plus a match. I genuinely could be a leg collector with two rooms dedicated to his collection. Fair enough for not wanting to date someone who is over commuted to their hobbies but poetry and music really doesn't take up much time or space.

DusktilDawn · 31/03/2018 20:52

I have nothing against violins or poetry.. my concern is that I'm going to feel very bland in comparison!

OP posts:
Hygge · 31/03/2018 20:55

Yes, I would. Especially the violin bit.

How lovely would it be to live with someone musical.

Addictedtohavingbabies · 31/03/2018 20:56

Yes, but not if there's nothing in common. You need similar likes and interests for it to go the distance.

Belindabauer · 31/03/2018 20:56

Yes I would.

Gileswithachainsaw · 31/03/2018 20:56

I think you could he surprised dusk I have a friend who is way out of my league educationally I constantly worried about appearing thick and embarrassing. But it doesn't matter and if you get on you get on just don't worry about it Smile

LiteraryDevil · 31/03/2018 20:59

If you don't want him send him my way!

Sesimbra · 31/03/2018 21:01

Yes, absolutely, not sure why you wouldn't?

Thistlebelle · 31/03/2018 23:30

Of course you won’t be bland!

There’s not only one way to be interesting!
