On Monday 6yo DD and DP are going to the States for a fortnight to stay with his friend. She's over the moon, obviously - first foreign holiday, first plane trip and all that. I'm staying at home with the 1 year old (joy!)
I'm getting unreasonably and irrationally stressed about this now. What if she gets ill? What if she gets lost? What if something happens to the plane? What if something bad happens in the city they are in?
All irrational. She's sensible and won't wander off. They're staying with American friends so if she's ill, they'll know where to go. And the odds of something happening to the plane or the city are of course minuscule.
I want to join in her excitement and not show her I'm worried but it's so hard not to sit there Googling photos of US policemen so she knows who to ask for help
Talk me down please before I somehow piss on her very excited chips?
