Name changes as could be outing
Attended a football match yesterday with my 4 year old who loves football. It was a conference game. It’s a team with a proper ground.
In the stand next to us was a group of children all with scarves and shirts, they were all out of their seats in front of the advertising boards. About 15 kids in all.
During the first half the behaviour got worse and worse, they were ruining up and down the stands, running along the front of the stand, hitting each other with their scarves, pushing each other, yelling at the top of their voices stupid things to the players.
The kids where leaning over the advertising boarding backwards hanging off them and jumping off them. I have seen players during a tackle come flying over the boarding which is one of the reasons that area is usually kept free.
At this point we are wondering who has control of these kids and it turns out they are from school and the club invite a school every home game and give them shirts and tickets for them and their family. So not only are the parents in the stand but the clubs community bods are meant to be keeping an eye on them.
I had a word with the steward and a guy with a little boy managed to talk to one of the community guys and ask him who is in charge. The guy also said how can we get our kids to behave when kids who have been invited to the club are allowed to run riot. Quite a few people in the stand around started clapping and nodding their heads in agreement.
A man with a disabled little boy also asked them to stop as the kids where blocking his child’s view. Two of the kids overheard and started laughing and pointing at the boy and his dad. I thought the dad was going to explode.
The community guy went over and old the kids to sit down, then the mascot came over and they had their photos taken with it and then they all started slapping and kicking the mascot.
After the game a see on Twitter that a guy has mentioned the behaviour of the kids and one of the kids dads who seems to be a county councillor said it was only a bit of fun and the kids were only playfully slapping the mascot!!!! The guy had then said well what if all the kids in the stand had come down to the front and started messing about and the councillor responded with its a family game!!!
I am right in thinking that if his kid had been hit by a player or ball he would be the first to complain.
