Friends and birthdays

It's my birthday tomorrow, I have loads of friends, in the last 12 months several friends have asked me to organise their birthday celebrations, I've had one card through the post 😂 I've organised 9 birthdays and 2 hen do's in the last year ( I enjoy /am good at planning) is it unreasonable of me to think a card wouldn't kill anyone? I might add that 70% of my mates live too far to pop a card in tomorrow & ive had lovely gifts from local friends & family so really not ungrateful for the lovely people in my world, but seriously would dropping a card in the post hurt?

Well there's no post today and it's not your birthday until tomorrow so I'd wait to see what turns up tomorrow. Hope it turns out happily for you, OP.

birthday cards are a total waste of time and money and the earth's resources. I never send them on principal.

I have learned over the years not to expect the same level of care or attention that I put in back from others. Only do these things if you do them freely. It's the best way. And be your own best friend and make tomorrow as good as you would want it.

It’s not your birthday till tomorrow though? I never get cards until my actual birthday?

Stop organising birthday events and hen dos for the ungrateful fuckers!

Bet they get lots of presents and you inevitably end up spending some of your own money too.

Are they treating you like a mug?

@user1499333856 well said. If you don't expect you don't get disappointed, I reckon. Some people are thoughtless or busy or one or the other or both!

BackforGood · 30/03/2018 23:48

I wouldn't expect a birthday card from a friend, unless I'd invited them to a 'do' for a big birthday. I wouldn't send them either.

I think the fact you seem to enjoy planning a 'do' and do it well is completely irrelevant.

Happy Birthday OP... today's the end on your 'Party Planning' career Flowers
